The View Camera Workshop

Private View Camera Workshops are a very intensive, three day hands-on experience covering view camera basics, Beyond The Zone System methods, and more.
The private workshop can be scheduled to fit your busy schedule, and can be custom designed to fit your learning needs so that topics in the workshop are directly tailored to your interests. We generally teach methods discussed in both the Introduction to the View Camera, and BTZS Workshops. A view camera is provided for you if you don't have one of your own.
- Day One: We will go over all the basics.
- Day Two: We will be photographing all day at a field-location.
- Day Three: We will be processing all of the film from the previous day and making prints.
The basic workshop is three days but additional days can be added (call for information) to cover more material. Additional days are $500.00 per day. For instance, we can spend more time going out photographing, making fine prints, or matting and framing your photographs.
All materials such as film, paper and chemistry are included in the workshop, and there are no lab fees. Transportation to locations that we photograph are also included.
Experience with the Zone System is not necessary. All that is required is a serious commitment to large format B&W photography, and an open mind. Come prepared to work hard and learn.
